After all the fear, the French returned a rebuff to Le Pen, with most MPs going to the left wing New Popular Front on a clear set of agreed principles, followed by Macon's centrists, followed in 3rd by the nationalist / racist National Rally and finally the traditional right wing Republicans.
Macron instead of appointing as is the norm a Prime Minister from the largest group has carried on trying to divide the left and keep his discredited PM and cabinet in power.
Hopefully he will be forced to see sense and appoint a left wing PM who should be able to introduce their basic popular and redistributive programme with some support from the centre.
But we may have to wait until after the Olympics
